Description Architect G. William Grant. Born in Pictou, Nova Scotia in 1852. He came to Vancouver in 1885. He is responsible for many of the major building in New Westminster before and after the 1898 Fire. Some of his most famous buildings are: The Burrard Guichon Blocks, the old Queen's Hotel, Knox Presbyterian Church, the after 1898 fire-restoration of Holy Trinity Cathedral, the Court House, the Exhibition Buildings and many others. After the 1898 Fire, Grant had an office in the Burr Block. He and his wife lived in New Westminster at 734 Queen's Avenue from 1890 to about 1895.
