Holy
Trinity Cathedral |

| The
first Holy Trinity Church, completed in 1860, was destroyed by fire in
1865. A new church of sandstone was constructed. This second church burned
during the Great Fire of 1898, which destroyed most of downtown New Westminster.
Architect George Grant was chosen to oversee the reconstruction of the
church using the existing walls and foundation. The interior is said to
be modeled after the style and finish of St. Paul's Church, Kensington,
London. It contains beautiful native B.C. woodwork and art glass windows. Click on Image to Enlarge |
