| Irving
House was built in 1864 for Captian William Irving, a pioneer in the steamboat
industry. The home remained in the possession of Irving descendents until
1950, when it was purchased by the City of New Westminster. Restoration
and refurbishment were quickly undertaken and it reopened in November,
1950 as New Westminster's Historic Centre. Today it offers visitors the
opportunity to step back in time and revisit the splendour and grace of
pioneer days. Click on Image to Enlarge |
