Fire Hall 1011 Ewen Ave. |

| In
designing New Westminster's Firehall N.4, the architect's main design
concept was to allow the building, its ramps and deck, to float above
the river, orchard, and meadows surrounding it. Henriquez Partners and
IBI Group, Architects in Joint Venture, decided to curve one side of the
structure in reference to a ship's bow. The building represents a 2-bay
drive-through firehall with a training room, training tower, training
yard and living quarters for four. The building was completed in December
1998. Materials used were architectural form finish concrete and metal
siding.
