In
1992 a modern shopping center was developed along 6th Avenue from 6th
to 8th Street, incorporating the existing Woodwards department store.
Designed by Aiken,Wreglesworth and built for Cambridge Leasehold by PCL
Constructors, the complex was originally named Woodward Place. In 1993,
after the collapse of the Woodwards department store chain, the shopping
center was renamed Royal City Center.
