| This
building is a good example of the residential work of the architects,
Enoch Evans and his son G. Norris Evans. This Tudor Revival Style (Eclectic
Period) structure was built in 1925. The Tudor style was popular in the
twenties and thirties. Architectural characteristics of this building
include front cross gables, slant bay windows, Tudor arches and molded
archivolts. The building officially opened in 1928 as the Loyal Protestant
Home, a refuge for orphaned children. Prior to its 50th anniversary in
1975, it was renovated. After 55 years of long service, the Loyal Protestant
Home was closed down. Since December 1984, this structure has been the
home of the Royal City Christian Center.
