Craftsman - Late Victorian PeriodThe United Church was established on this site in 1890 as the first 'West Side Church'. Upon completion of the present church building in 1911, the original church was used as a meeting hall until it was demolished in 1927. The church, as it now stands, was designed in the style of the English Arts and Crafts tradition by architect Thomas Hooper and built at a cost of $30,000. The church features a side-steeple with a bold art glass window treatment on the gable facade.
