219 Ninth Street
McClughan House (1911)
Craftsman Style - Modern periodThis house was built in 1911 for John McClughan, a plumbing and heating contractor with offices on Front Street. It was originally built as a one-storey house. The second storey was added after 1912 and entailed partial enclosure of the porch. The original porch detail featured heavy plain Craftsman trim and braces under the eaves. The Craftsman style was also used in the second storey addition. The McClughan House is subject to a Heritage Revitalization Agreement with the adjacent Turnbull House at 221 Ninth Street.
