321 Carnarvon Street
Emmanuel Pentacostal Church (1891)
Gothic Revival StyleIn 1889 - 1891, G.W. Grant designed the Late Gothic Revival brick St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church. The church features gothic stained glass windows, a front gable and a dominant steepled corner tower. Although it managed to escape the Great Fire of 1898, the church was remodelled in 1922 and needed repair in 1930 after a fire, at which time the steeple was removed. Beginning in 1977, the Church began a series of renovations to the roof, front doors, and the interior. In 1987-88, the stucco exterior was removed to expose the original brick facade. The Church pipe organ, which is one of the oldest and largest pipe organs west of Chicago, has also been restored.
