Alexander McPhee House (1887)
Pioneer Tent Style - Late Victorian PeriodThis house, known as the Alexander McPhee House, was built in 1887 in the popular Pioneer Tent, Late Victorian period, style of architecture. The exterior features a drop siding front porch, a chamfered roofline with Tudor trim and a dentilled cornice in the front gable. False half timbering has been added. The first owner, Alexander McPhee was a ship carpenter. Thomas Hirst, who was a mate on the Samson IV moved into the house in 1925 and it is believed his family occupied the house until 1994.
