The purpose of heritage designation is to protect, conserve and maintain property that is determined to have heritage value or character by the New Westminster Community Heritage Commission and City Council.
Listed here are buildings granted official heritage designation by the City of New Westminster. Many other buildings with historical significance but without official heritage designation are listed in the heritage resource inventory.
Descriptions of the houses include lists of people who lived in the houses from 1925 to 1975. These names are taken from city directories. Please note that 'h' stands for householders and 'r' stands for resident or roomer.
