SAMSON V MARITIME MUSEUM

Owned by the City of New Westminster and Operated by The Royal Agricultural & Industrial Society of BC

Welcome aboard the Samson V Maritime Museum website. Located in New Westminster, British Columbia, Canada, Samson V was a sternwheel snagpuller that worked on the Fraser River, until her retirement in 1980 when she was restored and transformed into a Maritime Museum.

On our site, you'll find information about:

  • The Museum
  • The vessel's history
  • Our educational programs, and
  • The vessel's restoration and maintenance process.
You can also meet Samson V's crew (in the Teachers' Corner), take a photograph tour of the Museum, or look up new words in our glossary of nautical and boatbuilding terms. And when you're finished visiting us, we offer a long list of recommended links

There's everything from the general to the technical. We hope you enjoy your visit.
